Fraud Alert: Fake Job Offers Using the Action Against Hunger Name

It has come to our attention that members of the public are being targeted by a recruitment scam falsely using the name of Action Against Hunger.
Fraudsters are sending fake offer letters, employment agreements, and other recruitment-related documents via email and WhatsApp, claiming to offer employment with our organization. These messages often appear legitimate and may include the names, titles, or signatures of current or former Action Against Hunger staff, as well as individuals falsely claiming to represent partner organizations.
As part of this scam, targeted individuals are being asked to transfer money to a bank account in order to “confirm,” “process,” or “commence” their employment.
Please be advised: Action Against Hunger Canada does NOT:
- Charge any fee at any stage of recruitment or hiring
- Ask candidates to pay for offer letters, training, equipment, or onboarding
Request payments via bank transfer, mobile money, or any other channel as a condition of employment - Conduct recruitment through WhatsApp
If you have received a suspicious job offer claiming to be from Action Against Hunger or Action Against Hunger Canada:
- Do not respond, click any links, or make any payment.
- Do not share personal or financial information.
- Verify any job opportunity by contacting us directly through our official channels listed below.
- Report the incident to us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including reporting to relevant authorities.
- If you have already made a payment, consider reporting the matter to your local police or financial institution as soon as possible.
