RISING HUNGER IN CANADA

Climate extremes, conflicts, economic downturns, and inequality are putting nutritious food out of reach for millions of people worldwide- including here in Canada.

With the cost-of-living crisis pushing nearly 9 million Canadians into food insecurity, hunger in our communities is at a record high.

Over the past year, almost a quarter of Canadians reported food shortages, compromised grocery quality, or anxiety about where their next meal was coming from.

As the cost of food and housing continues to rise, more and more people across Canada are finding it difficult to put food on the table.

Partnering with the Fort York Food Bank

In response to this growing crisis, Action Against Hunger Canada has partnered with the Fort York Food Bank, a multi-service agency that serves over 5,500 people weekly in Toronto’s downtown core.

Through this partnership, Action Against Hunger Canada will support Fort York Food Bank’s vital efforts to address growing food insecurity and ensure vulnerable people in Toronto have access to nutritious food.
