Action Against Hunger is providing essential supplies – and hope – to returnees – people who had been refugees in Sudan but have come back to South Sudan.
Action Against Hunger teams in Libya are ready to support the local Libyan Red Crescent in the distribution of food packages, hygiene kits, and other essential items for 1,000 affected people.

"These numbers are likely much higher today," Action Against Hunger, a U.S.-based nongovernmental organization, said in a statement on September 5. It added that Afghanistan was grappling with an "unprecedented but unseen mental-health crisis."

Since the campaign’s inception in 2011, Love Food Give Food has raised over £3.5 million. This year Action Against Hunger is hoping to raise over £200,000 with 174 restaurants taking part.
Since violent conflict in Sudan began on April 15, more than a million people have fled to neighboring countries, including approximately 378,000 Sudanese refugees and nearly 48,000 Chadian returnees to eastern Chad.
