$2.6 billion: That’s the amount it would take to fully fund all water, sanitation and hygiene, or WASH, appeals through the United Nations humanitarian system — less than one-fifth of the amount Americans will bet on March Madness this year. Lack of access to proper WASH services contributes to growing hunger, according to a report out this week from Action Against Hunger for the U.N. Water Conference.
