Gaza Crisis Appeal
On January 20th, the new U.S. administration ordered an immediate freeze on U.S. international aid. With up to 30% of Action Against Hunger’s global programs reliant on U.S. Government funding, this sudden halt has forced us to suspend some of our life-saving work.
Uninterrupted funding is essential for us to deliver efficient, well-run programs and provide a continuity of care for malnourished children, pregnant women, and families living in war zones, among others. Without it, the consequences are devastating.
The funding freeze jeopardizes approximately 50 of our programs in countries like Haiti, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, and Afghanistan, who are already grappling with severe crises. Around the world, the devastating impacts of this freeze are already unfolding:
Despite these challenges, our teams remain committed to reaching those in need. While this funding freeze will undoubtedly affect hundreds of thousands of people worldwide, we are doing everything possible to continue our lifesaving work.
Because a secure, prosperous world is only possible in a world free from hunger- and we will never stop fighting for that vision.
