Myanmar has been hit by a major earthquake. Lives hang in the balance. And emergency aid is urgently needed.
A 7.7 magnitude earthquake devastated Myanmar on the morning of the 28 March, and a 6.4 magnitude aftershock occurred shortly after, deepening the destruction.
The death toll for the Myanmar earthquake is reported to be at least 1,700, but there are fears it’s far higher. People affected by the earthquake urgently need emergency aid like food, water and medical supplies.
A state of emergency has been declared in the six most affected regions. The situation is still developing and uncertain, but we must act quickly.
