PROGRAMS DIRECTOR

James Buchanan has been working in the international cooperation sector for over 20 years. He has been with Action Against Hunger Canada for 9 years, previously serving as Partnerships Manager and Associate Director of Institutional Partnerships. Prior to joining Action Against Hunger, he worked with various international humanitarian / development NGOs in Canada and abroad, including 7 years as Regional Operations Coordinator based in the North Africa and Middle East regions with Handicap International. He holds a M.A. in International Studies from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University in Ottawa.

He is fluent in English and French and has professional proficiency in Spanish. He is based in Montréal.
