More than 150 million children across the globe are missing out on meals, as well as other essential health and nutrition services. That's according to the latest figures from the charity Action Against Hunger.

Fish is known to be rich in protein, especially the fresh tilapia which is recommended for children. Mary Kimani, head of the department of health and nutrition at Action Against Hunger notes that fish is packed with protein, vitamins, and nutrients that can help reduce the risk of a heart attack, helps to keep the brain healthy and also supports bone and eye health.
Action Against Hunger (ACF) country director Rita Kabanyolo said although women, who constitute 60% of the informal sector, are at the core of economic development in the country and world-over, they are the poorest.
Stakeholders in the health sector have emphasised the need for a comprehensive approach to bolster nutrition outcomes in Nigeria, considering the challenges posed by climate change. The call was made during the 2023 Nutrition Policy Dialogue held in Abuja under the theme “Strengthening Nutrition Outcomes in the Face of Climate Change”. The dialogue was organised by Nigeria Health Watch in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), Action Against Hunger Nigeria (ACF), Save the Children International and Helen Keller International (HKI).
