The State of Hunger in Ukraine

War in Ukraine has taken lives, destroyed homes and livelihoods, and forced millions of people to flee the violence. Families across Ukraine are struggling to survive the conflict and do not have sufficient access to food, water, and health services.

Heavy fighting, shelling, and air strikes are having devastating consequences – critical infrastructure such as health facilities, water supplies and schools have been damaged or destroyed. Farmers cannot plant, harvest, or transport their crops and, since Ukraine is a major global source of grain, food prices around the world have skyrocketed.

How We're Helping in Ukraine

In western Ukraine, we focus on supporting mobile health clinics, setting up mental health support services, and providing families with cash so they can buy food and other essential items. In eastern Ukraine and the Donbas region, we’re working through local partners to provide food, hygiene kits, mental health support, and medicine.
