Love Food Give Food Spotlight: Barque Smokehouse & Barque Butcher Bar

Love Food Give Food, running for the months of April and May, is Action Against Hunger’s annual event to unite food lovers with restaurants that are passionate about ending global hunger. This year we’re shining the spotlight on one of our participating restaurants each Wednesday. This week, we’d like to introduce you to David Neinstein from Barque Smokehouse and Barque Butcher Bar! We asked him some questions:

1. Why does Action Against Hunger matter to you?
It’s important to step out of our own frenzied lives from time to time and to look at how our industry can influence the lives of those outside of our immediate environs. Action Against Hunger and Love Food Give Food provide a fantastic program that enables us to contribute and participate by doing what we do best; preparing and serving good food.

2. What is your Love Food Give Food dish and why did you pick it?
We chose to feature our Pulled Pork Poutine at both Barque Smokehouse as well as Barque Butcher Bar because it is a great representation of Barque food: It is a Canadian favourite combined with traditional Southern BBQ.

3. Finish this sentence: Barque is the best spot for… Family-style shared meals and sticky fingers!

4. Pineapple on pizza: yay/nay? Only if it is smoked pineapple.
