Levetto joins Action Against Hunger to fight child hunger, one pizza at a time

Toronto, ON—September 16, 2016:

No matter how you slice it, a new partnership between Action Against Hunger and Levetto – a fast, casual Italian restaurant with three Toronto locations – is providing foodies and do-gooders a reason to eat out.

The collaboration is simple yet effective: a celebration of good food to raise funds and awareness about child hunger and the solutions that exist to end it.

Starting this month, Levetto’s three Toronto locations will donate $1 from select menu items to support Action Against Hunger’s humanitarian work in more than 45 countries.

“We’ve been working with Action Against Hunger on and off for a couple years and we wanted to do more,” says Levetto Executive Chef Shahir Massoud, who is also one of four hosts of CBC’s new daytime show, The Goods!

“Malnutrition remains the number one cause of child death, so this is an important opportunity for Levetto to contribute to Action Against Hunger’s work year round and make a meaningful difference to this cause.”

Pizza lovers can give back by ordering the Peking Duck Pizza at Levetto’s Chinatown location or the Margherita Pizza at its College Street and Liberty Village locations.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Levetto year-round to raise awareness about our work – especially because we love their food,” says Danny Glenwright, Action Against Hunger’s Executive Director. “This partnership is especially timely given that our teams are working overtime this year, addressing the hunger crisis in Nigeria behind Boko Haram’s front lines, the ongoing suffering in the Middle East due to the Syrian crisis, and the effects of massive droughts around the world due to climate change and El Nino.”
