Kitchen Talk

Tuesday, June 30, 2020 | 6:30 PM EDT | Live from your kitchen

For learning something new while helping others.
Against a global pandemic that continues to leave millions hungry.

Join us for a virtual fundraiser in support of our COVID-19 response in the more than 40 countries where we work.

Log on for 30 minutes at 6:30 PM EDT on June 30th and join us in the kitchen, to participate in our potato salad cook-off ahead of the Canada Day holiday, with our favourite ambassadors, Chef Joshna Maharaj and Chef Rossy Earle.

You will be able to add two new delicious recipes to your holiday BBQ repertoire and support a good cause at the same time. Which chef has the best recipe? We’ll let you be the judge.

The Kitchen Talk fundraiser will also include an update about Action Against Hunger’s global response to COVID-19 and the worrying increases in malnutrition because of the pandemic. The virtual talk will focus on our work in Kenya, where our teams are also responding to drought, locust swarms and deadly flooding.

Award-winning CBC broadcaster Nana aba Duncan will chat with Jemimah Khamadi Wekhomba, Action Against Hunger’s Health and Nutrition Coordinator in Kenya about the many challenges currently facing the East Africa region. Their conversation will focus on how we are adjusting our response to keep lifesaving programs going strong.

And there’s more! To conclude our first virtual event in a festive way, our special guest and long-time supporter Layne, “the Auctionista,” will prepare a Canada Day cocktail to launch you into holiday preparation mode – whether you’re spending it with your social circle or on your couch.

Please RSVP below – see you in the kitchen!
