Action Against Hunger Canada hosted its fourth annual Food for Action fundraising dinner at George Brown College Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts in Toronto. Held on October 23rd, more than 300 benefactors attended the evening dinner and Nightcap fundraiser.

Our annual fundraiser brings awareness to the work we do, which, this year, included the announcement of a new project that will fundamentally change the way that we treat malnutrition around the world. Not just for Action Against Hunger – we’re creating a revolutionary tool for everyone. We’ll be sharing the news publicly in the coming weeks so stay tuned for this game-changing announcement. Thanks to our supporters, we raised more than $136,000!!

The event featured 20 chefs from some of Toronto’s top restaurants, who each prepared a special three-course meal exclusively for their table of 8. During the evening, there was a fundraising auction where attendees bid for auctions items such as a Fogo Island adventure for two, a winter island escape in Curacao, a pair of Jordan 4 Retro Toronto Raptors sneakers signed by Drake and much more!

This year introduced the inaugural Humanitarian Champion Award, which was awarded to former board chair Colleen Mahoney. The award honours individuals who have made significant contributions to the organization’s humanitarian mission of improving lives and alleviating suffering.
